I think it began with Marlon Brando in the 50's... James Dean... that the bad boy image became "desirable" and became a blatant lure to young women. That is when the greaser image of cigs and duck-tails became "cool daddio" and girls loved it. Opposites attract. Look at the popularity today still of Grease.
The Beatles began as bad boys. The Stones carried it on. Many famous actors are bad boys. Girls are programmed almost to like this type because they are a kick at their parents. Even if they just think the guy id "dreamy". Now rock stars are the bad boys.
What girls do not get is.. these guys ear stars. The normal local bum who is nasty to girls, is just a punk who will probably not make much of his life. Most of them trend to think commitment is a dirty word.
A lot of girls hope to change a guy like this. A recipe for a broken heart. It just does not work.
I am glad my girls were the ones who dressed with attitude. They had the punky edge but they learned early that nerds were the ones they had fun with. The years the cool ones wasted, the nerds spend doing stuff.

I'll say this it is hard to underst and the complexities of a woman's emotions, it's hard for me and I'm 39yrs old woman. It starts from very low self-esteem and no self worth in onesself. There isn't a strong loving mother, grandmother or aunt that is highly valued with wisdom and unconditional love.Then fear and confusion of how we should be loved and who we should love,we get love confused with excitement, passion and ectasy. Which does not last and fisals out after a while, that can be very damanging to a woman and her personal relationships for life and can result in violenceor death. Society doesn't help with the confusion from what we watch, read and listen to as far as entertainment. Now some of it necassary to see violence of women as a reality to change the stiuation not to contiune it, It should not be seen as fantasy but, to find help and stop the abuse and not except it at all. God did not create us for that but to be loved, adored,respected to be equal partners and soulmates if we choose to do so out of love for life. we can sometimes be stubborn to and want to love the rebel any way reguardless of the consequences and that can be very damanging to a woman ,as well you will suffer and pay a dear price for your desicion in life.

This question has many different answers but the root of all of them is low self esteem or self worth and silly notions of the man waking up and finally realizing how valueable she is to him.
Bottom line: A person in company in such a persons company should tread lightly, it is easy to get swept away in the under current.

it is in their nature to want to improve the bums they always think he will not do that to me and he will change once we get together and when he is still the bum they say well one day he will change and besides I kind of like dirt and being used

well, most women have self esteem issues. they think that those kind of men are all they can have. they think that the cant get a nice guy and 50% of the other women think they can control someone like that. in other words, support them financially.

To whom;
I truly wish that i knew that answer myself.. All of my friends are attracted to low life's and nothing that i say / or / do ,seems to fade them . in fact i feel and believe that it turns them on even more !!!!
I tell all of my friend's that i am going too find that sign that advertise come get a low life and we have nothing to offer and burn it !!! the worst part is , that most of my friends have children and they continue to seek these low life men. if by any chance that you know where this sign is,that i am talking about-than please let me know.

Because they like the bad boys. After they are grown up, they don't want it anymore and move on to more stable relationship.

nice guys are too easy to get and the chase is better than the catch...so if there is no chase and the guy is too nice and easily attainable, hes not so desirable.

maybe cuz they are hot but if they get to kno u they mught fall for you. i sick of falling for guys that trat girls like ****.
