My girlfriend has a friend, one she used to sleep with. Am i being selfish by telling her "I am sorry that i cant understand the relationship between you and jonathan situation but we cant be together if you must keep steady contact with him" she tells me "Sorry hate me if you must but i cant make that choice. Sorry"
To me she now has already made the choice, "BUT HE IS JUST ONE OF HER CLOSE FRIENDS" am i wrong ?

STICK TO YOUR GUNS. If my guy had to hang with his ex gf all the time, he could have her.

I say it's wrong on both parts.

One, you should be trusting of her enough to let her have whoever she wants as a friend, regardless of the history. I think it's unfair for you to make her choose him or you. But I guess you got your answer by doing so. So I'd move on.

And for her. She shouldn't be throwing the relationship away so quickly if she really wanted it. I think it's a clear cut sign that she'd rather be single and friends with him, than in a relationship with you and not be friends with him.

I also have a couple of friends that I have slept with in the past. Drunk mistake. I would never ever do it again. I don't see them that way at all anymore. We are still friends though. One of which I talk to pretty often about current relationships I have. I would neeeever (even drunk) have sex with them again.

Some things change ya know.

You shouldn't ask her to let go of any male friends that were in her life before you, UNLESS you know that there is more going on between them than friendship. Speaking from experience, it is tough to allow your girl to be friends with her ex, and if you don't trust it, you have every right to ask her to let go of him. If she is not willing to let him go, then you have your answer. She should never put any man before you...

No, I'd do the same as you. Girls get caught up in the drama of relationships and can't let go. I don't have the time or patience for that crap.

obviously this other guy is important to her if she just cant let him go, but is willing to let you go instead. she would probably be uncomfortable if you did that to her, so why would she do that to you? sounds like she definitely has made her choice..

You have a right to ask questions, and get answers too. If she wants you, she'll answer.
