could be intercoastal neuritis - imflamation of the ribs. pain can resonate to the sholuder and else where.

It could be a heart attack if on the left side
or do you mean angina?
some times it may be hiatus hernia as they can be pretty much the same
but if you are having that pain & you haven't seen a Dr ring for one now to be sure!!!

you need to be more specific, shoulder and chest pain on the left side can be an indication of a heart attack. depending on where the pain is in those areas it could be tendinitis, bursitis, etc. Can you give us more detail?
