My female chihuahua did the same thing and it was hard to break her of it. I would smack her with the panties...shich doesn't hurt anyways but it scares her....then I would tie the undies to her for a few hours. It took a few months and alot of buying new panties but she finally quit....Tie them to the legs and neck and belly and they dont like it....but he will learn

Wow, sounds like you have quite the dilemma there. Maybe keep all socks and under ware out of his reach. Give him other things he can chew on, raw hide bones, etc. I was told by my vet when I had my dog, who did the same thing. But, not with under ware tho. That the dog was bored, lol. Which meant that I had to take him on extra walks every day and play non stop in the back yard. That didn't work, at all. I had to confine him while I was gone away from the house. I bought a crate and would put him in it while I was out. It worked out pretty well too. If you aren't familiar with crating. You can go to any of the big pet stores and ask for assistance. Ask a lot of questions and make a decision if crating would be the thing for your dog. It just might work and will save you on buying new socks and under ware too. : ) I hope this helps......Good luck!

Why would you hit a dog? It is only doing what comes natural. Keep your clothes picked up and put sanitary napkins where the dog can't get to them. Dogs can learn by being told NO in a strong firm voice. Or by making a loud scary noise. Not by hitting them. They want to please you and all u need to do is raise your voice it will know you are not pleased. Hitting will only create a scared, confused and unhappy doggy. Maybe you should consider and obedience class. Could be fun for the both of you to do together.

We also have a dog who eats socks, and then vomits them back up, mostly they are the sneaker socks so they are smaller, but still I have never seen a dog do this before, sorry I don't have an answer for you, I was kind of looking for an answer myself.

How old is your dog? Put these things where a dog cannot get to them. Try training your dog to give it more mental stimulation. Give it more physical exercise. Try substituting good dog chew things, such a bully sticks.
Try Bitter Apple or Fooey or Yuck!

I guess by now someone has already suggested picking up your underwear and socks and put them in the dirty clothes where they belong?
