dreaming if it's asleep
cold if it's curled in a ball
timid/scared if it's tail is tucked in
excited by something if made to sit, but it wants to investigate

VAGUE

however..........Both Golden retriever's I've had............picked up the shivering technique to get rubbed blanketed hugged etc...

from just the first time camping in snowy conditions .......My friend and I wrapped my first dog in an army blanket and gave him the four handed rub down in front of the fire.................
about 6 month's later on a 90 degree day the same friend came over to the house and Michelob(dog) started shivering like crazy.....he wasn't cold !!!!!!! just being smart..associated shivering with the rubdown............My current old golden "Cinder"

has been pulling the same shenanigans for years...........sometimes she is just looking for attention........

however she does do it when she's cold wants to get in the truck put her jacket on cuddle with dad etc...

We really need more information in order to answer this. Do you mean like a seizure or like a nervous shake. Please give more information on this.
