it's so overrated, it's not even funny. The only people that enjoy it are the higher up's at Hallmark, when they see their bank accounts getting bigger!!

Yeah i agree with you, and i am a girl. Like its not bad to celebrate but come on all these valentines cards and gifts are just another way for halmark and other companys to get money. i think that if you truly love someone you wouldnt care if they got you anything and they should understand. Its not about the gifts its the LOVE!

totally over rated! I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years and I don't expect anything on this day! Who cares its just 1 day out of the year when most people (usually guys) go around frantically finding the perfect gift for their partners!

YES, it is overrated! I like that my husband shows and tells me he loves me year round. It's the little things. I do not need a day in February to know my husband thinks of me. A card and a kiss. Heck, I don't even need the card! Married 16 years, together 18. xoxo

I truly believe that all holidays are commercialized. The element of surprise is always better for both the person giving and the person who is recieveing the gift flowers or poetry.

I don't mind buying gifts for my girlfriend but she's just so hard to please. She won't wear jewelry I buy for her. She says I'm trying to make her fat by buying her chocolates and roses don't do much for her. I don't know what to get her, except maybe a few sessions with a psychologist.

Most guys just don't want to put in the extra time. It's just one day a year, so make the special effort to make your woman feel special.

it's definitely overrated...people who care about one another should express it all year long, not on one, over-commercialized retail holiday.

"I love you" means more when it's spontaneous and sincere, than when it's said (or gifts are given) on a particular day because one feels obliged to do so.

Guys should be able to buy gifts without being prompted to do so...but yeah the holiday is well overrated...
