I currently have Vonage and I only use between 200 and 300 minutes a month. I have seen ads for Skype but I am confused about how it works. Can someone who uses it please tell me how it works and whether it is better than Vonage? Also, is it really only $ 29.95 per YEAR for unlimited calls???

Skype ($5/month) is a lot more cost-effective than Vonage ($24.ninety 9/month). the tremendous distinction is that with Vonage the kit is 'loose' in case you compromise to the provider for a 365 days ($299.88). Vonage works through your present telephones, by the Vonage adaptor. Skype can perform through your workstation (i do not propose) or through a skype telephone. A unmarried stressed out skype telephone is about $80. i exploit a GE cordless skype telephone gadget with 4 handsets (about $250). With skype you may start small and grow to be it. after I first began I used my workstation. you'd be needing both skype credit or a skypeOut subscription to make out going calls to actual telephone numbers. to allow human beings to attain you by a actual telephone huge variety you'd be needing skypeIn. in case you purchase SkyeOut a 365 days in strengthen it really is about $30/365 days for endless u . s . a . calls. upon getting SkypeOut they decrease the fee of SkypeIn to $30/365 days. subsequently the entire commence up fee is in elementary words $60 ($5/month) vs $299.88 from Vonage.
