Depending on what you are making of course if your leading towards steak well a red is better suited but if chicken or seafood a Gewurztraminer is a nice fruity and crisp wine or Reisling, I would also recommend a nice Blush or Rose it is colored for the day of course and well they are both sweeet and fruity, Red if you like something bold a Australian Shiraz or something a little milder
try a mix like cabernet shiraz, Pinor Noir is good I love Australian
wines but there are alot of good wines out of Chile and of course a nice Chianti out of Italy. Your tastes can choose many diferent wines but If I were to suggest one of the best wines in the world that that I have tried it would be Lindemans Bin 65 Chardonney
also consider a nice pink sparkling wine after dinner with some chocolate dipped strawberries etc.

Since it's Valentines Day, you might want to have a sparkling wine. Asti Spumante is the perfect choice for those who like sweet wines. Ballatore makes a great spumante that you can get for around $10.

i think the wine depends on the dish you are making. some wines bring out the flavor so i would call up a wine bar and and ask them. a local restaurant may give you an answer.

properly i think it relies upon what you like, and what you're eating. Wine often, is probable a greater "romantic" selection whilst in comparison with beer. . . .Base your form of wine on your meal of selection. remember, whoever you're celebrating Valentines Day for, you will have to contain all their popular issues.

Depends on what your cooking.

I'd go with a pinot grigio as mentioned above.
I'd also say give Sauvignon blanc a shot can have something of a tropical, sweeter taste too.
