In the spring is when kittens are most abundant. Don't get one any younger than 6 weeks old.............they need their mother for at least that long to be healthiest.

I think the best time to get a kitten is when you are 100% sure that you are ready and prepared for the responsibility. Sometimes pets can be expensive and If you take one into your home, you need to understand that. You need to be there for the pet...all the way. Let me put it to you this way...I have a five year old guinea pig that I bought for $25 and it has cost me at least $1500.00 in surgery because he has kidney stones. As far as when kittens are more available, i don't think there's a specific better time. Good Luck.

Spring time, early summer. That's when shelters get bombarded with un-wanted kittens. Kittens will be advertised in the paper as well. I really recommend tho, going to a shelter first. You will be glad you did as they will make arrangements to have the kitten medically checked, all vaccine shots and fixed too. Hope you find a pretty kitten!

anytime is the best time to get a kitten as long as you are able to properly care for it. this means financially and emotionally. don't forget kittens don't stay kittens for very long. you should be ready to spend up to 22 + years with this kitten. you should also be ready to spend some money on it. food, litter box, litter, toys, scratching post, bedding, shots, medicines, spaying/neutering, regular vet check-ups.
the best time to get a kitten is when you are able to take it to a vet whenever you think something is wrong no matter how unsure or minor it is, instead of coming onto yahoo answers to see whats wrong with it!!!!!

You can get a kitten anytime. Just go to the pound, petshop,or look in the classifieds under pets for sale or free. Just make sure you are up to handling and taking care of one. Such as being able to take it to the vet to get it's shots and checkups. And study up on them to find out what kind of food to start it off on. Good luck and enjoy your new kitten when you get one.

Cats are free And for sale all the time. All you have to do is type
in cat or cats for sale. Cats are self sufficient, when the are older
but while a kitten they need people one for bonding, with you
and to teach them rules of your home that has to be taught to
them young. Cats are much more hardheaded than dogs.
I have three boy cats. And two took the litter box really well.
And I also think that a toddler should only have a cat when there
closer to going to school age.Other wise their just plain mean to them. They also help more with their pet,And understand more that the animal is real!!! IT teaches them to want to care and help others more.

the best time is the spring where births take place in cats. you will have a variety to choose from and the weather would be nice. but there really is no specific time when you whould buy a kitten.

start calling local shelters in your area and asking if they have any kittens available. ask if they can call you if any come in. keep calling every month or so.There are millions of cats and tousands of kittens every year that end up in shelters - and most get killed because not enough people adopt. save a life and adopt a kitten!

there are always kittens in need of homes. check your local animal pounds/shelters/rescue centres. you should wait til a kitten is (preferably) 8 - 12 weeks old before taking it from it's mother. 6 weeks if it's a runt. this will give it a better chance as it's litter-mates will be bullying it & keeping it from feeding.
