ok..i have dark brown hair and i used to dye it black but i havent dyed it since the summer. i want to go blonde. what is the easiest way ? do i have to bleach? can i do it myself? help...i want a change

Yes, you can do it yourself, but I wouldn't. If you have dyed your hair dark before it will be hard to lift that color especially to go blonde. You should have a pro do it and go slowly don't try to bleach your hair on the first visit. If you want a dramatic change you should go in more than once for a good coloring job.

Black is next to impossible to get out on your own. Trying to do it by yourself would mean orange hair for you. Go to a salon and ask them to bleach it. I suggest you don't go platinum blonde right away though, it will fry your hair completely. A dirty blodne or a light brown to start with would give your hair a little more of a chance. After that, wait a month and bleach it yourself to a lighter shade if you want.

You may want to go to a professional because if u do it urself, it could possibly turn ur hair green looking because of the fact that u have dark brown hair.

Buy a color you like and call the 800 # for help. You should know that if you have any red in your hair naturally, you will have a lot of red when you color your hair blond.

It can't be done! Certainly not without a professional hairstylist. And they will just tell you to forget it and grow it out for another year.
If you seriously want to change your style and go blonde., you're going to have to cut it very short. Don't do it at home whatever happens! I've been there and it wasn't good.

well if ur head is black then i would take it a step at a time get a little lighter every week or so. but yes thats a great idea.

you should first highlight it, so it isn't permanent. If you like it, dye it, if you don't wait for it to go back. You could try to dye it yourself, i guess.
