NO. there are two rates of BAH(basic allowance for houisng.).Single and With Dependnats. It is the same whether you have just a spouse or a spouse and ten kids.

The only time you get paid for having a child is if you are OCONUS. COLA is based on every member of the household, although children receive a smaller amount than the spouse does.

No. The only pay that changes based on having dependants or not is BAH, and that is an all or nothing. You either get BAH at the with dependants rate or you don't. It doesn't matter how many dependants you have.

The person above me said BAS changes based on the number of people in the family - NOT TRUE. In theory, BAS is only supposed to cover the servicemember's needs. It makes up for him not eating at the chow hall. It's a flat rate, whether you have 0 dependants or 7.

No they don't raise his base pay and he won't get more BAH. Nothing changes at all. If you currently live off-base he is already getting BAH with dependents rate (you are his deendant). His pay doesn't change based on the number of dependents he has. it seems like they should raise it but if you think about it, civilians don't get a pay raise for having kids either.

Your base pay stays the same, but you also get money for food which is called separate rats, that should be for 3 people. And will get money for housing if you live off of post. If you go to germany you get more pay because of cola.

No..We have 4 kids and we don't get any more pay..Your pay goes off your rank and how long you have been in. It would be nice if they raised it a little bit but then i guess there would be alot more kids running around..lol

no, you are either "with dependants" or "without dependants". Whether you have just a wife or a wife and 50 kids, it is the same. There is no reward for the number of kids you have except the size of house you can get on base.

i wish! i have 5 kids. lol. it only matters when you are overseas and receive COLA. (cost of living allowance) this is based on the number of dependents you have.
