I am depressed, and have been for quite a while. My signs are that i no longer care to do the things i love. I have always been creative, and i love to draw, paint, make collages. But i don't have the drive to do that anymore. I also sleep a lot more. I sleep about 12 hours a night, when i would normally sleep only 8 hours a night. I also tend to disconnect myself from others when i am depressed. I don't call my family or friends, i stay pretty quiet. And it takes a lot to make me laugh when i am depressed. I also eat very little when i am depressed, i don't get an appetite, and i only eat when i feel very hungry, to the point that i almost feel sick. I also don't care to dress up or look nice. I just wear jeans and a swearshirt, and don't do my hair. These are the things i have noticed i do when i am depressed.
And i really don't know what causes my depression. Sometimes i feel like it is because i am not completely fulfilling my dreams. Sometimes i feel like i am stuck in life. But i think depression is cause by different things for different people. Sometimes it is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Sometimes it is an event that sends someone into depression.
