Of course they do. Childrens' feet, especially those of the youngest children, should be barefoot as much as possible, for healthy growth of muscles of the arch. Also the toes will be straighter if they are allowed to walk barefoot. I truly am annoyed by judgmental folks who believe it is irresponsible for parents to let their children walk barefoot, private or public.

I just looked over the list of questions you have previously asked. This thing about your son being barefoot seems to be somewhat of an obsession! I can only figure it to be one out of two things. If you really have a son like this, then make a decision on if you're going to let him to continue to go sock less and let he and you get on with your lives. If, on the other hand, you're some pervert that has a thing for young boy's feet, then get professional help NOW!!!! You've asked this question (in different ways) too many times for it to be because you are seriously seeking advice on a matter.

I always went barefoot. My daughter went barefoot. Now my granddaughter goes barefoot when ever she can. Sometimes she takes her shoes off between the bus and the house. Our grandson wears shoes when it's cold.
There are places I insist on wearing shoes: In stores, anywhere there may be glass or dangerous objects to step on, and playing in the creek.
I no longer go barefoot outside, but the grand kids do. Their feet are tough, they can walk over rocks and it doesn't bother them at all!

I go barefoot all the time, but only when I am indoors, I never go barefoot outside. Afraid I may step on something.

Yes my 5 yr old did not get shoes till he started walking at 14 months. He walks barefoot in the house, beach usually on hot days if the ground is not too hot. It lets their feet breathe and if the ground is hot thongs are good.

In the house we go barefoot. But, outside, no she has to wear shoes. Not only could she step on something, but why would you want to let them go barefoot outside? Their feet would just getting really dirty an nasty.

My 3 year old only wears shoes when we are going to play outside, going to someones house, or going shopping. I let her go barefoot most of the time, it is good for their feet as it helps them develop an arch and they use their toes for balance.

Check out some of the following resources and see for yourself why you should let your kids go barefoot as often as they'd like.
