I was at a dance and I went up to go talk to him. He ran off. Does that mean he hates me or does he like me? Any advice please.

If he is a shy guy he probably ran because he does like you, and probably thinks that you are too much for him and shied away

What do you mean run off? Like trying to avoid you? it can be shyness or maybe you are bothering him to much, try to give him space.
