Hi, this is to give you brief outline of the situation that one of my friend is in. He has filed his returns online on some xyz website and the status of all that is "Rejected" right now. Now what I am expecting is that whether he could use some other company let's say ABC to see if it goes through or he couldn't since it goes to IRS in the end. This is really urgent matter. Response is highly appreciated.

If the program is rejecting it, it means that something on the return is incorrect, Is he claiming his own exemption when a parent might be entitled to claim him. Is his name and Social security number correct. He needs to look at the information and make sure that everything is correct. If something is rejecting it, no matter what program he uses it will reject

It depends on why it was rejected. If for example a social security number was entered wrong or a name was spelled wrong, the filer could make the correction and resubmit it. He would not have to go to a different place. But if it's rejected for example because he claimed a dependent that someone else had already claimed, then he'd either have to delete that dependent from his return and not claim the person, or else would have to file by mail.
