Different...and more honest. No need to explain away slips of judgement as "deception from the devil" or good fortune as "divine rewards". No need to bow to an altar or priest, minister, or other self-appointed intermediary. No need for self-deception or superstition about this or that action. Just honest grappling with a problem and consciously seeking an ethical answer.

I feel that I have chosen a better life for MYSELF. What other people choose to believe in, is up to them. I felt like I am freed form all the lies, and brainwash.

i think I've chosen to face reality, and honestly being an atheist feels much better than living in constant guilt of not being able to live up to god's impossible expectations, and knowing that a terrible hell awaits me after i die.

I think better in that its more honest and make me responsible for my actions. I am also living for today instead of a future after life.

People who choose to be atheists are individuals--they are not a group devoted to the 'religion of atheism' They simply do not believe in God--period. They don't have parades to celebrate that. In other words, you are stereotyping individuals into a group--they are not a group -- organized or otherwise.

A life of rationality, intellectual honesty, logic and the freedom to explore ideas seems intrinsically better than a life of ignorance, fooling oneself and archaic dogma, doesn't it?

They are outside the rope of religion. They are not inside another rope. They do not pack their car every Sunday and go fishing without a fishing gear and without knowing where they are going.
