My fianciae has this georgous ingagement ring and ,ironically enough, when I gave it to her she had and still has an alergic reaction to platinum. There has been a skin test to metals and she is definately algeric.

Are there any sugestions for this problem?

if she is not allergic to gold or silver, you could have the inside part lined with white gold or silver. I am a jeweler and I know that you should be able to find someone in your area that would gladly do this for you.

I'm not sure if coating just the inside is the answer. If you coat the inside of her ring, her other fingers are still going to rub against it all the time. I think you should get a new band in either white gold or regular yellow gold. But since I'm you sure you chose platinum for the look, I would go with the white gold.

Good luck!

kcl_anderson is right. if she is allergic only to platinum, then she could have the inside coated in gold or silver. I think that all jewellers do this procedure.

If your girlfriend is also allergic to those metals she can then do it herself and paint the inside of the ring with nail hardener or colourless nail polish.

You can coat it with clear nail polish, but this wears off and needs to be repeated.
