Why do people do this? Why would you date someone you don't even like, and who doesn't like you? It sounds so stupid to me! What do you think and what is the point of this? <3

Where did you get the idea casual dating meant you and the other person don't like one another? How silly!
Casual dating is for people who don't care to commit to one person or who just don't want to be in a serious relationship, but enjoy socialzing with the opposite sex and may or may not include a physical relationship. People who date casually DO tend to like one another, but not love one another.
The point is to go out and have fun, to enjoy male or female companionship and affection, without the responsibilities and 'strings' that often are part of serious relationships.

A casual dating relationship isn't about sex for me. To me a casual dating relationship is a guy friend that I know I don't want a long term relationship with, and he doesn't want to marry me either. We can go out together, see a movie, have dinner, and NO SEX!! I wouldn't have sex with someone in a casual relationship!!

Some people like the idea of companionship, without worrying about having a sexual relationship or anything long term. When you are going out for a dinner or a special evening it is always nice to have someone to share that with.

If you don't like them, and they don't like you - um..those two wouldn't date.
A casual dating relationship is two people with similar tastes and similar interests that go to places they both enjoy, then end the evening with a hug. It's casual. And very enjoyable.

It's someone you like, but for whatever reason you don't want to get in a full-blown serious relationship. Think of it more as friendship and companionship, someone to do some things with, someone you enjoy being with, but maybe you don't want to have a relationship right now.

if you are talking about a casual dating relationship that doesnt involve sex then its a relationship that you go out together sometimes but you can also go out with other people

i think the point is to know each other and learn from this sometimes you find a good friend and if lucky found a good lover and if you have a bad luck youll find a bad enemy because its casual your not committed and its good
