Well why do you believe God exists? Because the bible say's so? Because the people around you say so?
There are thousands of religions out there, and every time you worship the wrong god, you make the right one more angry.
If you deny the thousands of other gods well, you better be prepared to face the Invisible Pink Unicorn, or Thor, or Zeus!
If you assert that your "god" is real, and all of the others are false, well...I hope you have some good documented proof. Oh I dont know...Maybe Jesus appearing infront of everyone at the same time, handing out gold crosses?

D.L. Miller, I am from the U.S. In the U.S I, an atheist am demonized, and threatened with hell.
Thiests want to impose there religion on everyone. I'm sorry, but I dont want laws based on Magic and fairy dust.
And to those that say that their prayers were answered, can you prove that it was your god? What about those that had prayers answered that WERE'NT christian?

Please, If you have proof that christianity is real, Please post it!
I dont hate Christians, I just hate Christianity.
I'm sorry If this hurts your feelings but...After reading the bible I was left with a impression of bigotry and hatred.
"Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Lev.20:13 "
"2 Kings 2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them."
I could go on and on but you get the point. I could never worship such a monster.
By the way, those are in the HB

I'm with you. I can't believe that in this day and age that people still believe in mythical supernatural beings. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend reading Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" it's a great book. I wish the Christians out there would read it..... Then again they are so brainwashed into believing insanely crazy tales that logic completely escapes them. They are all just a bunch of lemmings who are incapable of independent thought.
Oh and for the moron who said that scientists found the Ark. That is a load of crap. As a matter of fact even many christian scientists will agree that there was never a cataclysmic flood. Not only is it impossible but there is absolutely no evidence. What scientists DO believe is that there was a very large flood localized to that specific region. Actually the best argument against christianity is the bible itself. It is full of contradictions and inconsistencies. It's also full of very immoral behavior such as slavery and rape all condoned by "god". It also takes a very degrading viewpoint towards women. What a great religion.......

That's a good argument against Deist, but not Theist. No offense but you seem to have a very primitive view of God, but then again, so do most believers. Keep in mind the possibility that God may exist as an impersonal force. What the hell, keep an open mind about everything. Works for me. What other choice is there? Infinite regression? That argument, as scientific as it sounds is as ridiculous and the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Does Dawkins ever discuss infinite regression? Atheism is a belief system that has no more proof than any religion. It's a matter of faith from either perspective.

I experienced God directly. I have no proof for you, and don't need to prove it, nor do I expect you to believe (that would be silly). At the same time, I can never doubt what I experienced.
I'm not religious, live a rather good life, married, have a baby, have a good job, more than enough money, and am happy with nothing to sell or prove. God does still exist, yet how could anyone expect anyone to believe it based on third or fourth-hand accounts, let alone a first-hand account like my own where I have no proof save for the wonderful effects its had on my own life (as well as a surprising amount of information about the world that I still have, incident to the event).
I'm not better than anyone, didn't really "deserve" what happened to me, and certainly didn't gain any "special authority". It left me with no message or mission (I wish it had, as it would have made understanding the experience a LOT easier).
You are closer to the truth than you realize. Good luck with your search for truth, wherever it leads you. We may meet on the road one day. Keep questioning.

I know God exists because of his answers to my prayers. It is not because of what any book or any other person said. Through honest prayer and study, anyone can know the truth.
There is far more proof that God does exist than that he does not. How could this world exist, logically? How did we get such a variety of life in plants, animals, and in everything? Plus, there are millions who believe in God. Do you honestly believe that all came up with this through some fantasy or madness? You should really consider your own beliefs carefully. The idea that God doesn't exist actually makes far less sense than the idea that he does.

If you make a statement like, "There are thousands of religions out there, and every time you worship the wrong god, you make the right one more angry" means that you believe there is a God and his existence is real. What you are suggesting is that you will only believe if you have proof... which means faith no longer exists since faith is believing in something unseen. And without faith, religions don't exist.
Once you accept Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit will give you the proof you need; it will testify of Christ and you will know for a fact what he taught was Truth.
Religion is not for everyone. To some, it's a great joy, to others it is a stumbling block. I wish you the best in your journey to find truth.

GOD(Generator Observer & Destructor) does not have body. He is a spot of light like a star in the sky. In this world all religions are false because every religion mentions that GOD has Body. He is called as Ehova is christians, Shiva in Hinduism & Allah in Muslims. He is the father of all Humans. GOD comes to earth to destroy all religions & to establish truth. If you don't care and you don't believe, why write about it?
You seem to be a very double- minded person. Having the belief that there is no God, and then ranting about the fact that others excercise their right to believe in what ever they want is stupid on your part.
Of all the things you could have wasted 5 points asking, you took the time to attack peoples right to believe whatever they want.
Stop playing yourself, worry about what you can change and move on to an argument that you could win.

I have thought about this question long and hard. I do believe in God, but not because of the Bible or because i'm conforming. I think that the God that everyone talks about is the same God but people argue over his name ( I use "His" loosely.) I just think that the universe and everything working together as perfectly as it does is to awsome and beautiful to be chance. I think that all the bad stuff in the world was not part of Gods plan. I hope you didn't ask this question to insult all of us who believe. But because you really are curiouse about what we think.
Another, more simple answer, is I believe because it would suck to think that there is never going to be anything better than what we have now, and that we are just left to our own devices until we all are extinct. If i'm wrong please just let me wallow in my ignorance.

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. How do I know?--He is the most persecuted of all the Gods and the subject of religion cannot come up without "issues" surrounding Jesus Christ, whether good or bad. There certainly aren't "issues" about Buddha or Krishna! There are some about the muslim relgion, but that is more the teachings or the followers themselves rather than issues about "Allah". Think about it, no one ever cusses in the name of Allah or Buddah or any other "god", only Jesus because he really is God, whether accepted or rejected.

i think that if people want to believe in a
'god' then thats ok, what i do have a problem with is organized religion, and the constant need to convert those that dont believe in religion. i dont think you should have to pay god to love you. ie. the donation baskets, televangelists.....and so on. some people just need to believe in something and like the idea that a greater power is guiding them, whether it be 'god' or a fuzzy headed troll doll.
