i am told my 33 week pregnancy is now at high risk, i am told i am healthy and my baby healthy and that the heartrate was a little low. i am being monitored and it is good and the fluid is good, and baby active. why do they want me to possibly deliver this baby now at 33 weeks? the baby is about 3 lbs and i have 7 weeks still to full term?

An abnormally low fetal heartrate is usually indicative of a baby in distress. The doctor will keep a close eye on the baby's heartrate because if it goes too low, they will want him/her to be delivered asap to save the baby's life. A low heartrate is always cause for close monitoring but an extremely low heartrate is cause for concern. Don't worry, they will not deliver you early unless they feel it is essential to save the life of your baby or you. You may very well make it full term...they just are preparing you in case the baby's heart rate gets slower. Good luck!
