ive heard many times that it ripes faster when put in a brown paper bag but why? whats in the bag or what chemiclas are in the avocado that make it react this way to a brown paper bag?

The ethyline gas (a ripening agent) is concentrated in the bag.The avocado emits this gas.

It's not that there's anything in the bag itself that ripens the avacado - any bag would work but a paper one is better because it won't keep the moisture in and risk the fruit going mouldy. As fruit ripen they produce ethelene, which also promotes ripening, by keeping it in a bag you are concentrating the ethelene around it so making it ripen faster.

Fruits and veggies give off gases and when they are put into a brown sack, the sack seals in these gases and that is what causes the fruit or veggie to ripen..
