Its almost like mexicans want to be gringoes on one hand (spanish) and then hate gringoes on the other (americans). Is very very ironic.

If you are Mexican dont say you are spanish because you have 1 spanish ancestor and 3000 aztec ancestors. You are denying who you really are, INDIANS.

Hmmm, many so called latinos are in denial about their heritage. They are not latino at all but amerindians. go to spain and you will see what I mean. Dont think you are spanish just because you speak the spanish language. Philipinos speak english, does that make them british? Haitians speak french does that make them french? you are aztec and have nothing to do with people from spain.

I intent to answer your question from a intellectual angle. First of all it appears to me that you have many questions unanswered.
My question to you would be what do you know about prehispanic
colonization? However, I am very surprised to know that you are the first Gringo that actually recognizes that not only mexicans but every one that originated from the North of tip of Canada to the Tip of the Patagonia are the true Americans. If you ask me, I did not come from African, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Australia, or Eastern Europe, my ancestors are Aztec. A highly structured society in it's period that included mathematics, astronomy, irragition systems and governed by Emperors, all destroyed by the Spaniards. Ironically, the official language of mexico is Spanish. Why? How come is not Mexica? It could have been speaking French if Mexico had lost the French Invasion at the Battle of Puebla, isn't that why we celebrate "5 de Mayo"?
One of the questions which still lingers in my mind is...have YOU ever been to Mexico, have you mingled with the crowd in the local plaza or at the market or attended a 5 start hotel in Mexico City's affluent Zona Rosa? Have you visited the Aztec Pyramids?
Are you a historian with a endless thirst for smearing Mexican people or it's history. Perhaps not, I hope.

The irony that Mexican people want to be labeled as Spanish is agree is absurd because like you say it would not matter because according to your definition, all mexicans are Indians. Which is false. In mexico there are regions for example, in the state of Jalisco there are people who are fair, green/blue eyed with what most Mexican people call Yellow hair, I'm sure you say Oh no! is called Blonde hair! This people are French decendants with native blood. In educating the public and yourself, is not Indians they are Native Americans........but most Gringos stop calling Native Americans as soon as they get to the 38th parallel.
After that there called Indians. It's unbelievable that Columbus landed in 1492, and called the Native Americans "INDIANS" and 500+ years later, you, an idiot, still call Native Americans--Indians.
Typical Gringo. no surprise from you.

Suggestion: Travel and Explore for yourself. TV only gives you a one-sided view of what world looks like. Don't be afraid to step out of your 3-foot-white-picket fence and view the world from a world perspective.

Geneological perspective for deep thought: At this time in history
very few Americans are pure in one race or ethnic background.
Perhaps, the only people that may still be pure in their race may well be the Native Americans. They are housed like cattle in reservations and are the poorest in the country. But who cares right? They are just Indians! My Dentist revealed to me that he had done some research about the people of Mexico, and had found through dental identification and isometry that most people of Mexico, specifically people from the central part of mexico, most are decendants of the Mesopotamian area. This area today is the middle east! Some may be of Asian decendants as the early travelers of the world set out to find new land. This are people that immigrated to the Americas long before Columbus bumped into the Americas. By the way, Mexicans do NOT celebrate columbus day, as he was nothing more than an Idiot sailor who ran into land, and thought it was the West Indies, calling all the Natives -"Indians".
There is still much exploration and research to be done in this area of civilization.

OK, here's an idea, come back & ask again when you can spell the word "gringos." And it might help to prove your point if you can actually bring some FACTS to back up your asinine statistics. One Spanish to every 3000 Aztecs? Funny how the Aztecs are extinct & the Spanish language & religion (Catholicism) are dominant in Mexico. Wonder how THAT happened with all the Aztecs running around?

More importantly though, WHO THE HELL CARES? Are you saying that Spaniards are more important or more valuable than Indians? If they are Indians then they have more right to this land than we do. They were here first.

I think the only one denying who they are around here is you. Take a close look in the mirror & claim your real title with pride 'RACIST.' Aren't you so proud?

Dude, I am not an Indian, Mexican, or a Gringo. I have yet to hear Mexicans refer to themselves as Spanish.

I have never heard a Mexican say they are Spanish...that they speak Spanish yes, but that they are Spanish no. Skin-color does not make you more or less Mexican. My parents are both Mexican, but my dad is brown-skinned and my mom is really white (she even has siblings that are blond and blue-eyes) My mom doesn't consider herself to be less "Mexican" than my dad nor does she consider herself to be better than him. Plus, where do you fit all the black-Mexicans, the Asian-looking Mexicans, the Arabic-looking Mexicans, etc.?

The Israelites were in captivity for over 400 years in Egypt but did not continue to speak that language when they left. Any person not born in Spain and uses that language (Spanish) as their primary means of communication celebrate their slave status rather than the language of FREE men. As the saying goes "to be ignorant of the past is to be condemned to repeat it".

That's like us in the U.S. saying we are British instead of Americans......It's just not accurate. Besides if they were Spanish they would speak proper Castilliano or Catalan, or Valenciano, not provincial Spanish - pretty much the same way we speak our own version of English.
