It depends. Depression is not one of those things you can pin down as one single thing with a singular solution to it. There are different kinds of depressions caused by different kinds of things. If your depression, then, is not caused by biological factors, then a pill might fix some of the symptoms, but it will not cure the problem. Thus, you will remain somewhat depressed. For example, a pill won't stop your husband from beating you all the time or make your job better. However, if you are bi-polar or have a chemical imbalance, your life can technically be perfect, but you will always feel depressed because you have a medical problem that requires a medical solution. In that case, it is best to see your doctor and do whatever they suggest, which may or may not include medication. One needs to be careful not to over-simplify depression. For some people it can actually be dangerous!

Very tempting indeed. Most likely when one is not old and has a lot to live for, I should say take it and then live with whatever problems that could come with it and this includes out-living all your love ones centuries in and centuries out. At the end of it all you may wish for another pill that may grant you a long awaited and desired death.

well the cure part would be great. but our class is studing tuck everlasting and we were writing the pros and cons of everlasting life and i realize that it really wouldnt be that great because you would eventually lose eeryone you loved and life would just get boring after so long. what if global warming or something happens and you would ahve to be alone, in discomfort for a very long time. i dont think its worth it.

No. I'm human. I'm supposed to die sometime. That means I'll have to get sick...or hit by a bus. Besides, I have everlasting life: John 3:16.
