It's 12pm on Valentine's Day here, and yet again, my husband has neglected to do anything for us. It's not that he's forgotten, he just hasn't bothered. It's the 3rd year in a row this has happened. I usually do something for him, but this year I'm not going to because he won't do anything for me, and I know that he hasn't got anything planned for later on. I don't expect or want much, just some flowers or chocolate, hell even a card will do, just something nice, from the heart. But it's the one day of the year that I do expect something, no matter what. I'm really upset and feel neglected. I want him to understand how I'm feeling, but I don't know what to say. Any suggestions?

Thanks for reminding me. I won't get my wife anything, either, for the thirty-eighth year in a row.

100,000 people have asked what they should do for V day, and its the ones who do nothing that ruin it. Its worse than having no one.

I think he's a louse and you have the right to feel bad about it. You can say to him, "gee it would have been nice to get a little card or something." Don't nag, don't whine. See if you can tell him it would have meant a lot to you. Men sometimes respond better to honey than vinegar.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It must be hard. The only encouragement I can give you is to try and talk to him about it and clear this up by letting him know how you deeply feel. There has to be many reasons he married you, and fell in love with you, and I would remind him of those things.

do you have any close friends? someone you can have a coffee with and cry on their shoulder? sometimes they help me through difficulties in my life.

:-)

Maybe you can stop feeding yourself the dillusion that you're royalty and should be treated accordingly and just admit that you're a regular human being just like the rest of us.
