I highly recommend Religioustolerance.org:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/var_rel.htm

They have write-ups on a lot of different faiths, if you want relatively objective information.

If you want to speak to people who actually practice different religions, I recommend the Beliefnet.com forums:

http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/index.asp

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find catagories for lots of different faiths.

You might also enjoy their Belief-O-Matic quiz:

http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

to figure out which religion best suits you.

As for what religions I know something about personally... in roughly descending order of familiarity: Wicca, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Shinto. I don't claim to know a LOT about most of them, but I have at least a passing acquaintance with them.

Good luck!

There are more than 3000 (yup 3 THOUSAND) world religions. Christianity itself has some 300+ branches. Then there are the many branches of Islam and Judaism as well. There are also things like Zoroastranism, Jainism, the many branches of Buddhism and the many branches of Hinduism. There is Sikhism, Shinto, Confucianism, Wicca, and other pagan tradtions and beliefs, there are the Mayan traditions, there is a branch that worships John the Baptist (can't remember the name, sorry), Taoism.
If you are going to put some honest research into your search of religions, it should keep you busy for a good long time! Good luck!

There are thousands of religions. Go to wikipedia.

Edit: and atheism is NOT A RELIGION!!! Good grief, people. It's the lack of belief in religion and god. We don't believe in religion, so how can we be one?
