Your items must fit into a standard quart-size ziploc bag. Any items in this bag must be able to lay comfortably in the bag. You cannot attempt to fit 20 items into a quart-size bag when only 8 of those items are able to fit comfortably in the bag.
Any airport screener must be able to look at your bag and clearly see what is in there. You are not permitted more than 4oz of anything liquid. You should have no problems getting travel size shampoos, toothpaste, eye drops, hand sanitizing gel, etc to fit into a standard quart-size bag.
Keep in mind however, you are permitted to travel with larger sized bottles such as shampoo, shaving cream, toothpaste, etc. provided they are packed in your suitcases and not your carry-on bag.
Take the ziploc bag out of your carry-on bag and put into the bin to be screened via the x-ray machine. If you leave your ziploc bag inside your carry-on bag when it goes through the machine, you will be stopped and have it searched. When approaching the tables that are set up for the screening, just quickly take your ziploc bag out and put it in the bin to prevent any hold up of people behind you, this will help the line runs along smoothly with no further hold ups.
You can also check the airlines out on the internet and I am sure you will find the carry on regulations.
Hope this helps..

You are allowed one carry-on item and a personal item; like a briefcase, purse, instrument, etc. If you want to bring any item that is liquid, cream, or gel; those items must be in a clear, quart-sized zip-lock bag. The items must be 3 fl. oz. or less. Even if you have an item that has less than 3 oz in it, but the container says it has more than 3 oz, you aren't allowed to take it on. The items must fit comfortably in the plastic bag.

I would suggest that you go to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft with you in both your checked and carry on luggage, as well as tips on packing.

Hope this helps and have a great flight!
