my comp was restored recently but prior to that i had lw installed. i now have reinstalled it and at least half, and in most cases, more than half of the songs that come up in a search are junk. and even if there are songs that are not junk, they have very few locaations on the network.

is there anything i can do to change this?

also many songs that have a junk percent of 99 have as many as 100 locations. when i had lw before if something was junk there would be 2 or 3 locations.

whats goin on?

I suggest you stop using Limewire. Limewire is ad-supported, and it is just full of viruses and junk files. If you want a peer-to-peer program that will give you consistent downloads of MP3's get SoulSeek. Here's a link for the free download.
http://www.slsknet.org/download.html

Otherwise, you can try Ares - another free P2P program that is not ad-supported... http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

EDIT:
Norm, what are you retarded? I know that Limewire isn't some central database of files that contains a bunch of viruses -- but if you compare how often files available THROUGH Limewire are actually a virus to Ares/SoulSeek/Bit Torrent, you'll find that Limewire will get you a lot more viruses than any of those.

Next time you want to tell somebody they don't know what they're talking about you might want to make a fuc**ng point that's worth making you pretentious prick.

Hi Motoson,

Unfortunately what you are seeing is what people are sharing. Limewire is simply a program. It doesn't provide any files. People that say Limewire contains viruses just don't know what they are talking about. You can get a virus from files you download using Limewire but it comes from the person providing the file - not Limewire itself.

The garbage you see is much like the spam you get in your email. Anytime you download from anywhere you run the risk of spam & viruses. That is why you run an anti virus program.

You just have to filter out the bad and be glad for what you do get that is good.

Norm

All you can really do is mark iot as junk. that's it. I'm having the same problem. Many cant be downloaded, have viruses, or just plain suck.

Limewire is being crap for me too. Thank goodness for my great firewall i have installed.
