Does it pay to get a manual treadmill? or should I just spend the extra $ and get an automatic?

Automatic, for sure. My friend got a manual treadmill and I've tried it... it is truly garbage compared to the real deal. I don't think you burn hardly any calories nor do you get a decent work out.
