As a parent of 2 boys I can tell u this.....Parents will never let on how tight thing are financially. If your parents r refusing to buy it for u....maybe u could try and do some part-time work and try and enough for half of your craze and ask your folks to chip in the rest. Just remember this...Golf is 90 percent mental and the other 10 percent is also mental. Which means.....maybe you just want this new putter! Try and find the same confidence with your odyssey putter. You never know...if you learn to master your old putter you may not need this new 1. Good Luck with the team.

Try trading in extra clubs, such as your old putter. When i bought my Odyssey putter, i traded in my old driver, and it cut the price just about in half.
But as other have said, golf is mainly mental, so just practice putting a lot, and build up your confidence. That will help more then a new putter will.

If you're able to get a 4.17 gpa on a 4.0 scale, then I fully expect you can also violate the laws of thermodynamics and rip-holes in time-space. So, striking a deal with your Dad shouldn't be too tough. Tell him that if he'll let you buy the putter you'll increase your GPA to 5.17 and get 900 on your math SAT when you take it!

Tell your dad you will get a job and pay for it yourself you spoiled brat! On my HS golf team i played with my dad's hand me down clubs. In HS your clubs arent going to make a big difference. There will be kids with K-Mart specials out playing you. Just play well with what you have and then ask for the putter for your birthday or christmas or something.

I am going through a similar problem, and I'll tell you, it's quite tough! Tell your problem to the high school golf coaches and see what they say. Then tell your dad that they recommend it or whatever. If he wants you to make the team, he probably won't argue with the coaches opinion.

People in this world are scrounging through garbage cans for dinner, and you're crying about putter problems?
Don't get me wrong, I do superficial things as well, but if this is your biggest problem right now, I hope you realize how lucky you are...

Your money or his?
If its yours and you don't owe any money for bills or anything, just go ahead and buy it.
If its HIS money, then get a job and use YOUR money.
