When a guy gives you a card and handwrites the following quote on the inside after you've been having issues (he keeps messing up, but promises to get his life together, but you just don't know if he will ever change), what is his meaning behind this quote? What message is this quote trying to convey?

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will disappear."

That quote is saying once you get to know me you will have to make up your own mind as to how you perceive me. The bottom line here is to be yourself and expect people to accept you for who you are. A prime example is the song, " It's a Thin Line Between Love And Hate". When you meet and fall in love with them then you love them with all your heart. If something happens to where trust is destroyed or a bad break up occurs then you may hate them. An ex wife may have had my children and I will love her for that but she loves going to court and telling lies so I will hate her for that. Hopefully I've answered your question clearly.
