The only thing sadder than that is the fact that major figures in the US government say things like this:

"We don't have to protect the environment, the second coming is at hand."
-- James Watt, Secretary Of The Interior under Ronald Reagan

"God is still up there"
-- Senator James Inhofe from Oklahoma on why we needn't worry about global warming

not quite sure why you find this so sad. Are you familar with I Thes. chap 4?

The bible certainly does teach that the earth will be destroyed not by water ( as it was in the days of Noah) but by fire next time. and Christians certainly do not need to fear this calamity.

I would imagine that the message is talking about that event, not the gradual warming of the planet.

I can think of lots of things sadder than the message... for one thing, it is tremendously sad that so many people reject and scoff at the offer of salvation given to us by God in the person of Jesus Christ. Now THAT is sad.

god bless

Which global warming? The twenty or thirty major ones that have happened in past human history, or one of the hundreds that will happen in future human history?

yes, the Truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it.
but, do not be sad.
God loves you unconditionally and His Gift of eternal life through Jesus Chrust is still there, if you will only accept it.
because God is faithful in His promises.
His promise of salvation is a simple one.
believe that Jesus is God and did what He says He did on the crossfor YOU, seek forgiveness for your sins and make Jesus Christ Lord of your life and you will be saved.
there are no "ifs", "unless's", "ands", "buts", "excepts"
His Promise is that simple.
salvation is that simple.
there are no other requirements.

That is a horrible horrible sign. When some heathen sets fire to their church, they'll be sorry about that one.

There are some pretty dumb church signs sometimes. Most are pretty good though.
