because of the money they make,And are they
paid too much, My doctor is always on holiday ,or it is his day off i have never seen so many locums in my life.

It is true that some become alcoholics - i'm not convinced more than the figures for the general public though. I think its because some of them get very stressed and use alcohol to relax.

Yes they are paid an absolute fortune - it is a way of life though that the more people get the more they want so they always strive for more!!

Most good hard-working doctors have to do nights on-call which means staying sober. It's unprofessional to treat patients whilst under the influence, and doctors can be 'struck off' by the GMC for being unable to perform their duties safely. It is therefore not in a doctors' interest to drink excessively or to become an alcoholic.

As in any other profession, there are those that drink too much alcohol. Alcoholism does occur amongst doctors, but is related to stress rather than overpayment. It does bot neccessarily follow that somebody who has 'spare' cash spends it all on drink!

Your GP could be away because he is ill him/her self!

i would say no more than people in any other proffesion but i do agree i see a lot more locums or have to wait months and months to see my doctor
