In respond to between the in the previous responses, a GHD iron expenses about $225. you may get a respectable iron, like warm equipment, for round $50 to $60, yet my maximum advice is a Paul Mitchell Iron, or a CHI iron, which run everywhere from $one hundred to $one hundred and fifty. inspite of iron you get, be particular it has CERAMIC or Tourmaline Ceramic plates - those are a lot more desirable sensible on your hair. My well known thermal protectant is CHI Iron guard, which runs round $14. you'll discover any of this stuff at JCPenney, ULTA, or on-line.

i use a conair that can straighten wet or dry hair. usually, i would say beware of conair, but this one i have had for a long time and have been very pleased with it. before i straighten, i spray on 'matrix' heat protector which is non greasy and very effective. be sure to get a ceremetic straightener, and try to get rounded edges on the plates or the top part will leave a noticable crimp in your hair.

Hi sunshine :-)

You want a Chi straightener. They are VERY expensive, but they won't damage your hair. I have extremely frizzy and dry hair, and also really really thick.

With this Chi straightener I get smooth results that will last long (... I had my hair straight for up to a week... without washing / re-straightening... but don't tell anyone! )

definatly ceramic would be the best
you cant really put a price on you're hair so i would buy one thats about 40 to 50 dollars
if you buy one that's 10 or 15 dollars, it wil probably damage youre hair
I use the brand Helen of Troy and i am very happy with it
if you have more questions i would ask a hair dresser
good luck

It's not the brand of straightener you use it's how your protect your hair BEFORE you start straightening it. I use Tresemee (spelling) heat protect spray and it works really well, it keeps my hair soft and shiny, and not STICKY!!
