Is it a girl or boy name, and if I added an accent mark over the "u" would it sound like "lu-pay"?

Lupe is the shortname of Guadalupe and it is pronounced Luu-pe. In many latin countries the name is used for boys and girls but I wouldnt recommend you to name your children with this name

listen i would think it was a girl because first of all i am Hispanic and i know these things.
then u ask how to pronounce Lupe the way u say it is Lu-pay .

Lupe would be pronounced "Loop" but if you put an accent over the letter E it would sound like "Loopay"

i think it's a guys name. and i think it's aready pronouced lu-pay, but yes, that would stress the oo sound.

It can be for both boy and gril but i mostly see it on Girls. its like...the lou, in louie and the pay in....paycheck. Lou-pay.
