That movie should be condemned because it was "Mad Max Calvary." It was a snuff film. And the film itself was anti-Semitic -- he told everyone he left out the "His blood be on us and on our children" bit, but the people SAID in Aramaic and he didn't subtitle it. It was a true POS.

The film is one thing - the producer is another.
If I were to analyze the film in detail, I could point out something I disagreed with (at one point it gives the impression that Mary has the power to stop everything if Jesus wants, but most people didn't notice that). But the film itself really drew attention to what Christ did on the cross, and got people discussing what it was all about. So I'm really glad for the film.
I don't even stop to condemn bad films that come out, why should I condemn the Passion of Christ?
Some Christian leaders got all excited about Mel Gibson. I didn't.
He has his problems. I hope he is ashamed of what he said when he was drunk. Any way it's his business.
EDIT:
I am told he was angry because he felt Jews had blocked his film from being accepted by the great film companies, so he had to produce it on his own. If that is really what he thought, I don't think he was right. It was simply very risky to produce a purely religious film - but it turned out to be a success.
The film itself does not promote antisemitism. It just describes the Gospel account.

The movie, 'The Passion of the Christ" is a movie that while not entertaining does help to picture what Christ went through on those days.
But I agree with the other person who posted a response. While I don't always approve of what a person in Hollywood does, there is no such thing as a perfect person. Whether Mel Gibson is sincere in his apology or not is between him and God.

He is just a human like everyone else and like everyone else makes mistakes. Any time anyone says anything about a Jew and the Jews don't like it they label them a Anti-Semite and persecute them and try to make them into some kind of Pariah. Get over it and Get a life! There is nothing wrong with the movie.

Hi:
Well we are no better than anyone else
"For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
Note: ALL
God used some of the weakest, self concious people throughout the Bible to carry out his plan to reconcile us unto himself.
Who knows, maybe he'll even use a sinner like me.
Overall, regardless of who made the film, it was a accurate story, of what Christ went through for guess who... You and me (the sinner)

Mel Gibson has renounced those drunken statements. He claims that he is not an anti-semite. Therefore you claim is not completely valid.

I think that it is so ironic that people judge him based on that one incident. I was having a conversation with some friends (of different ethnic groups) the other day and we've all seen people who were angered by several people from a particular ethnic group, religion, or sex go on to say something stupid while under the influence or blurted out in anger. I just personally don't think it automatically makes you racist----stupid-----but not necessarily racist.

I finally watched that film- I actually was aroused how Jesus had the crap beaten out of him-It was hotter than a porn movie...
I only wish they could have tortured him some more--
I hope somehow there could be Saw movie sequel where Jesus falls victim to the serial killer Jigsaw, and Jesus has to dig a key out of his eye with a rust nail to get the key that unlocks the skull crushing device on his head....

Like any graphic representation of Jesus Christ it is inaccurate and idolatrous. If you want to find Jesus Christ look up Isaiah chapter 53. Also, he didn't have long hair. ( Ist Cor. 11:14 )
