I can tell you that I quit smoking after 50 years. While I was a smoker my stools would vary in moisture and form. Now, the stools are consistently firm and consistently well-formed. I asked my doctor about it but he poo-pooed it aside ( LOL) and never really remarked on it. But I seriously do believe that you may be on to something.............

Any kind of stimulant (ie: nicotine, as well as caffeine) can cause loose stool/diarrhea.
