If I see someone's name written as 'Stephan', shouild I pronounce it as 'Stefan' or 'Steven' ?
I ask it because I am not very familiar with English names yet. Thanks.

If it's pronounced as 'Steven', why it's not written that way? Just curious.

I would say stefan because it has the "a" in it. My fathers name is Stephen pronounced Steven... English is hard.. the phonics are all messed up... if you aren't sure, ask the person, they appreciate you asking and not butchering their name...

it would be pronounced 'Stefan' as there is an 'a' at the end. if there was an 'e' as in 'Stephen' it would be pronounced Steven. English is a complex language and one of the hardest to learn

If in English, it is pronounced as "Steven". Stephen is the original English spelling. E.g. there was a king of England whose name was Stephen, who lived circa 1097-1154 and ruled in 1135-54. This pronunciation is corraborated by Webster.com that cites it as 'stE-v&n'.

Well
As parents, you're the most important first step in your children's journey into the wonderful world of reading. It is up to you to create the most supportive environment that turns your child on to reading - such as reading aloud to them often during the day and before bedtime, and placing age appropriate books for children around the house, so that the child will have access to plenty of books. Reading often to your child will help develop their interest in books and stories, and soon they will want to read stories on their own.
