Risir (Pronounced Rye-seer) are benevolent spirits of natural places like lakes, hills, and rivers. They are a type of giant described as fair to look upon and not to be much greater than human stature. Generally, they are seen to be helpful to humankind.

How about the goddess Vesta? That's where we get the term "vestal virgins." She was the Roman goddess of the heart and flame. (She was "Hestia" to the Greeks.) She seems like she'd be appropriate to protect one who is doing rituals.

You want a real goddess or nature spirit or would you like us to just propose a good name? Because I've always liked the name "Ardith" which has something to do with trees but I don't think she was a goddess. I'm not sure.

Aradia was the goddess of witches. I'lve put links here that will lead you to more information on Vesta, Ardith and Aradia.

Prometheus is the protector of mankind in the Greek Mythology. He stole fire from the gods and gave it to mankind. He's a Titan.

You might use Aradia, and watch the Gardnerian Wiccans' heads spin. :-)

Alternatively, try the old standards: Artemis and Diana, or Pallas Athene. Hermes was also associated with travellers, as I recall.

I think there is Dawn, the goddess of morning. You might want to check out wikipedia or books about Wiccan.
