You bet your @ss I'd come to your aid, AVATARD, that's what friends are for. Of course it would help matters a bit if Godzilla came by to rescue me from the fray.

There are a lot of different scenarios, but let's stick with the simple one. I have just parked my vehicle at the mall and I noticed two young men yelling and shoving each other. The first thing I would do is call the cops. I don't know if someone is mugging someone, or, if it is a fight over a girl, or some form of random violence.
The second thing I would do is place my hand on my gun in case the situation starts going south real quick. I would still be talking to the cops and reporting my observations.
If the situation became life threatening, then I would use verbal warnings to hopefully stop the problem before I used deadly force. And, this would be witnessed over the phone by the LPD.
My advice to you is to avoid confrontations. Be observant. Watch your back, no one else is going to. Remember, the loser of a fight does not always walk away, but might be carried to the morgue in a body bag.

Sure I'd go to bat for you ...
First I'd call 911 on my cellphone and take then take some pictures using the phone ... so you could use them in civil court and sue the pants off them. You could even call me for a witness.
Then I would pull the bat out of my trunk and give'em a whack for you! I'd leave in a police car before I'd leave in an ambulance any day for you AVATARD!

but i have at times thrown big strong men across a room ...
