...is that I don't CHOOSE to be athiest. My instinct tells me that a religious God doesn't exist, and I am in no control over my instinct. Therefore, I have no control in whether I believe in God or not. Trust me, I would give anything for there to be an everlasting afterlife of rest, but my mind just can't believe it.

There's no choice to be made here. You are either made to believe or made to disbelieve. There is no free will involved.

On second thought, "free will" was a bad choice of words in this situation. My main point was that someone doesn't choose to believe or not belive, it is just what they feel by instinct.

Could it be because the God you were taught of just didn't add up. Such as everlasting hell fire, torment, etc. If so them maybe it's your perception of God that does not allow you to believe and perhaps that perception is incorrect and your instinct to reject that perception is correct. Food for thought.

Do you choose to say that you don't sin, that the word sin has no meaning to you? What do you do when you know you've done something wrong, when you're conscience is bothering you? Are you proud, arrogant, do you have the sense that you are above the law? I hope you don't feel like I'm condemning you by asking these things. The reason I am is because what your answers to these questions are can give you insight into how you perceive what is the basic thing that separates us from God, which is our sin, and why Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for it.

Very Calvinistic of you, except that you were not "made" to disbelieve. You have a sin nature inherited from Adam, and a total inability to look to God for salvation. Call it instinct if you like, but no one else looks to God either of their own ability, so you have company at least. Like all of humanity. Rather it is God who calls & saves His own, I'm a Christian that has not done anything to merit God's grace, and yet He has drawn me to Himself. If He has not drawn you, then God is glorified either way, is He not?

You must be the first ever atheist who claims theres no free will involved in chosing your creator.

Fair enough.

I asked a question the other day, and people answered me with: but who made god?

Then I decided that, the human mind is so interesting, it always wants to know who the creator of anything is. Isnt that a paradox?

We are each given a measure of faith. When we ask, He will answer, when we knock, the door will be opened. Get a Bible and start by reading St. John's gospel. You will gain a new insight to your questions.

yeah, some religions asks people to believe god, some are even worse they want you to accept that god is real, even though it seems unreal to you.
Popular religions seem to be most dis-honest.

free will largely relates to actions not thoughts or beliefs.

If there is a creator and what you say is true then you should not held accountable for what is not conceivable to you.
