If you are looking or a purely statistical number, then there are roughly 376 million Buddhist.

Note: This number includes those that consider themselves Mahayanan, Theravadan or Vajrayanan (Tibetan) Buddhist. It does not include the millions of parishioners of Chinese traditional religion that includes a great deal of Buddhist teachings and philosophies; the practitioners of Falun Gong witch has it's origins in the Buddha's teachings. or the millions of Catholic and other Christians that study Buddhist mediation and philosophical perspectives without considering themselves actual "Buddhists."

If you are looking for a more 'Buddhist Number', then the number is incalculable since all beings have Buddha nature, we are ALL Buddhist, even if we don't want to be, this includes all the beings of the world.

I hope this helps.

1275 million. They recite the qoran and dwell into the eightfold path communion, then act upon will and humor truth for sake of method. Happy lot, don´t ask.
