from a creation view and evolution i believe there are many beliefs on this fact. for myself i am a creationist and i believe the world was more like a green house before the flood. and after the flood being that only 2 unclean animals and 7 clean were on the ark the world was much more dessert and like it is today. what dinos that were on the ark i believe to not have been able to servive and reproduce therefore becoming extinct.
however you can go to creationseminar.net and look up dinos on that and there are some that are very much alive today. just not as big as they were back then. they have toy dinos that are scale sizes of dinos that they have real dinos that match that scale right now. you also have like the komod dragon, lizards and other reptiles. reptiles continue to grow all there life. so if we as humans were living tell we were 900 yrs old. think of like the komodo dragon that i think gets up to 5 ft or larger. think if he was living 900 yrs longer how big he would get. not to mention and it has been proven the earth had more oxygen and was more like a green house. they have hyperbolic chambers that are what they believed the earth was like before the flood. and have had animals double in size just being in that climate. like the scorpion. and humans are able to heal much faster. just like humans if get a cut on like a submarine when it is under water with less pressure and oxygen dont heal as good as on earth. anyways i still believe many are around today just not all big like we think they are. i am not saying they were not big back then just saying they are not as big today so we dont recognize them as dinos.

Most creationists believe that Noah's flood wiped out most of the dinosaurs since we find clusters of dino graveyards in various places. The climate change after the flood, which probably included the ice age, killed off even more and man probably hunted some to extinction. There are still some sightings of live dinos from around the world and photographs of washed up aquatic dinos from the past 80 years which gives reason to believe that a handful may still exist.
The so called scientific views are mainly that a large meteor hit the world and caused a clouded atmosphere which dropped the temperate and made it unbreathable for the dinos even though that scenario would also have wiped out just about every other form of life. There is also a view that some kind of virus killed of the dinos although that is just speculation as well. Some scientists actually believe that some dinos evolved into chickens and that means that a reptile is now a bird. I kid you not.

From an evolution point of view, dinosaurs died out for several reasons. The largest of which is an asteroid that hit the earth. Theres evidence that it impacted in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
The asteroid was so large that it caused something like a nuclear winter as the dust covered the suns rays (which all life needs to survive) for hundreds of years resulting in the death of most of the life on the planet.
Though there are other things that factored into it. Its a distinct possibility that the dinosaurs were starting to die out before the impact of the asteroid but its not been confirmed yet.
Among the other reasons for the possible death of the dinosaurs are a mutation in the virus' that caused widespread death, and the dropping of the oxygen levels on the earth.

I beleive there is numerous evidence to suspect that dinousaurs were ultimatly wiped out in the Great Flood recorded in Geneisis, God did not choose those animals to be saved on Noah's Arc.
What a waste of some good meat though,, think of the Steaks you could have arrggggg T-Rex Steak, with Teradactor paste!! yum!

From the best guess we have is that the impact from a meteorite at the K-T boundary changed the climate of the planet leading to the gradual demise of the dinosaurs. Not sure why this is in the R&S section though.

One very convincing hypothesis is that a meteor impact threw a lot of debris into the atmosphere, causing a mass die-off of vegetation. (Sunlight was not able to penetrate the debris very well) The dinosaurs were unable to eat enough to survive, hence extinction.
A huge meteor impact site in south america and a layer of ashy stuff the world around have been found, lending credibility to this hypothesis.

Ugh. sure, fossils can vindicate evolution. the fact that we've transitional fossils (i.e early homo sapiens), proves it. apart from, the only element that would desire to furnish credence to flood-geology and creationism is that if there have been modern-day bunnies have been stumbled on fossilized next to a Tyrannasaurus Rex. of path, there is not any such fossil stumbled on, and this in basic terms provides credence to evolution. besides, the Bible does no longer call dinosaurs. It truly names them as 'Leviathan', and that they have got been theory to be demons, no longer great lizards. And, besides, there is not any information of a great flood; if there became such a element, there would have been no earthworms, no plant life, no bugs, etc. simply by flooding. The Bible says that Noah introduced animals that 'breathe in basic terms for the duration of the nostrils'. This, of path, leaves out plant life and the stable earthworm, besides as any bugs, simply by fact they have not any nostrils to respire with. how are you able to describe that. If there became a great flood, there would be no existence in the worldwide. it would have died out a protracted time in the past. supply it up. we've the fossils. We win.

They encountered a particularly large asteroid of the hostile kind.
From an evolutionary standpoint, you could say they were poorly adapted to being incinerated by the blast of the impact, of frozen in the resulting nuclear winter.
Creationists may say that Noah didn't really like them so he left them. Maybe he didn't want to admit that they could not breath the air from a few thousand years ago.

Who can say for certain... Though it's an inevitable fact of existence, nothing lasts forever. Look at the great ancient cultures that died us and make you wonder what caused it... Even humans will on day be extinct--the only species that could potentially do it to ourselves...

Creation view - they were too large to fit onto Noah's ark, so they drowned. And all that water compressed them into the soil, creating fossils.
Evolution view - most were too large, and there was a lot of competition for food. So most of them were not able to get enough food to sustain their large bodies, and starved to death.
