The Mexican Consulate demanded the prosecution of Texas Sheriff's Deputy Guillermo "Gilmer" Hernandez, who subsequently was brought to trial by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, according to documents obtained by WND.

WND also has learned the Mexican Consulate played a previously undisclosed role in the events leading to Sutton's high-profile prosecution of Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who are serving 11 and 12 year sentences for their role in the shooting of a drug smuggler.

Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas – among a number of congressman who have fiercely opposed the prosecution of Ramos and Compean – told WND he has "long suspected that Mexican government officials ordered the prosecution of our law enforcement agents."

"Mexico wants to intimidate our law enforcement into leaving our border unprotected, and we now have confirmation of it in writing," Culberson said.

Demanding that that Mexico not dictate US border policy

If George can not or will defend this nation from invasion from Mexico during this war on terror, then he needs to stand down.

Excellent question. Wonder who is paying Sutton. That man needs to go to jail. He is obviously on somebody's payroll. We all know that the corruption in Mexico is rampant. They must be paying him...BTW Sutton is a Bush appointee..hmmm

Let me get this straight, The illegals try to run the officer over, he tries to disable the vehicle, not the inhabitants of the vehicle, someone is injured so Sutton prosecutes him.....unbelieveable.

If the situation was reversed and it was American citizens trying to run over a Mexican Cop what do you think would have happened? Everyone in that car would be so full of lead it would take a crane to move them. There would be no trial and the American consulate would be laughed at if they requested the officer(s) be prosecuted.

We neede to dictate terms to Mexico, not vice versa.

The more I hear about this case the stinkier it gets. It's bad enough that they are wrongly in prison but to have our government LIE about things. These officials should be in prison, not Ramos & Compean. Sutton should be in prison with the illegal aliens he put in prison!

Mexico is not part of America. Just like all the 20+ million illegal alien criminals that are here, they have no rights and should not a have a say in anything. (I wish people would stop saying that there are only 10 million illegals when even the low estimates say it's 11 million. I read that insulting lowball estimate twice tonight.)

First of all dont forget that good ole Bush baby has a neice or nephew that is Mexican, that could be partly the reason that he doesnt want to do anything about this big mess. Another is that with the possibility of the combining of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, he just doesnt want to pi$$ anyone off. This poor excuse of a leader should have been kicked out of office and/or impeached a very long time ago. He wants illegals here, for his rich buddies. The sorry SOB!!!!!!!! The two Border Agents deserve a medal not to be in prison and to be beaten!!!!!

Hit the nail on its proverbial head!!!

The Mexican Gov't needs to understand, that we are gaining back the control of our borders to stop the ILLEGAL activities, they need to learn from our examples of what the word "ILLEGAL" means. Once they get the message, they will have to control their own more and work on the things that are driving them here!!!

People are not considering that this sheriff fired shots with no regard for the passengers in the vehicle. He could have called for assistance in lieu of firing shots into the vehicle. Tunnel vision is a bad thing.
