I reciently purchased an economy wine list, made by some people who tested economy wines for the best flavors... I picked a chardonnayoff of it and it was the best stuff I've ever had at only $10, since I'm a college student, I've been doing a lot of reasearch on the cheap wines, and this one really stands out. Try to see if you can find a Linderman's Bin 65 Chardonnay from Australia years 02, 03, or 05 I know are good. It has a very complex fruity flavor that is incredible, and it has none of the dryness associated with low priced wines.

Sure Do!
Have some fun and add ambiance to the table at the same time. A decent bottle of chianti won't set you back more than 10 bucks.
One of the old fashioned bottles with straw wrapped base often hold an entire liter not 750 ml Last time I looked, also 9-12 dollars. Chianti is the perfect red pasta sauce kind of wine.
I should know...my grandfather and uncles used to make their own in the garage, along with everyone else in their neighborhood. Italian toast to a friend with: Per cent' anni
(Per chent ahhnnee) it means : One Hundred Years ciao

The Italian Wine of the Month around here is Barbara D'Alba. Definitely a red wine with this very rich white dish. No white wine made will stand up to it.

If you are using a white sauce then go with a Pinot Noir or a Pinot Grigio. If you are using a red sauce go with a Merlot or a Chianti.
