As a rule of thumb, I wouldn't upgrade at least until Microsoft releases Service Pack 1. At that point, all the MAJOR bugs and issues will be identified and fixed.

You may spend more time hunting down drivers and customizing Vista to work how you want than you spend actually using your computer. Besides looking pretty cool, there's no big difference between the two. There is something called UAC which helps with security, but it asks you a question every time you want to do something that could ever possibly hurt your computer (i.e. run a program, right click, etc.) I'm exaggerating of course, but everyone I know just gets sick of it and disables it. Then you're left with Windows XP with a different name.

I believe it isn't at the moment not until MS brings out SPs for it to fix bugs etc. And as the person who answered before me said your computer has to be vista compatible. Another reason is Vista isn't able to run a few programs that XP can and if you really like those programs then stick with XP for a while longer.

Nope: (1) nothing yet significant or overridingly important to offer over and above XP; (2) may overpower your current machine, unless you're buying a new computer (in which case Vista is a given...); and (3) not fully tested, which is to say, "not all the bugs or kinks worked out yet"

Why bother? Now they want us to look ahead to Windows Vienna which is to be released in a year or two. How often are we supposed to upgrade?

Google this "microsoft windows problems and issues"

If you would like a reliable up to date operating system try UBUNTU. It's free as are all of the programs that you will ever need.

first of all, your comp. has to be windows vista compatable. if it is, it is worth it. But only if you have the money, becuase its nothing too important.
