No, you are not doing anything wrong. Have you ever heard the joke about the old woman who was trapped on the roof of her house in a flood. She prayed to God for help. Soon, a small rowboat came by and offered to rescue her. Her reply was, "No thank you, God will save me". About an hour and 3 feet of water later, a power boat full of fireman came by and tried to rescue her, but she refused, saying "God will save me". Soon, the water was threatening to sweep her away, and a helicopter came and lowered a rescuer to her aid. She fought him off and promised, "God will save me".
Unfortunately, she was soon swept away in the flood and went to Heaven. She asked to see God, and asked Him why He didn't save her. His response to her was, "What do you mean, I sent you 2 boats and a helicopter"!
The moral of that joke is this:
When you pray, the answer you want is probably not the answer you'll receive. Since when do we know what is best for us? Just because He doesn't answer your prayer in the time frame and manner that we want, doesn't mean He won't answer it, nor does it mean that He hasn't already done so.
So, in short, have faith and continue to pray. God is there, and he listens to all prayers. Remember to pray in times of prosperity, too, not just when you need something.

God's timing is perfect. If you are looking for a certain answer to a question, then you may never get it. He will never contradict what He has said in His word. Be patient pray His word and pray His perfect will for your life. You are not doing something wrong. We are human and He is God. He loves us and cares deeply for us. Be patient and continue to pray.

Be aware that God usually does not yell; he whispers. Further, his reply may not be immediate. I seem to recall reading Jeremiah and his response was 10 days later. He told Abraham he was going to have a son, but how many years went by before that occurred.

Nope, nothing wrong but you are trying to hope for an actual human like answer. Instead, be like your avatar name and seek the inner peace, for the answer is standing by. The Almighty is the peace everyone yearns for but are mentally inept to receive His Word.

God will never answer, because god is imaginary. You may as well pray to your cat.
