The Torah is known as the books of the law to the Jews. To us Gentiles, however, it is the first five books of our Bible. In the torah, we find the early history of the world, the downfall of man because of sin, the destruction of man, the separation of the world cultures, then the separation out of a blood line through Abraham. It tells about how all the things of this line of the Israelites came about. The Torah even tells how Jacob (Israel) got his name changed. The Torah was written by a man named Moses. This book was received by the nation of Israel after they had spent 40 years in the wilderness between Egypt and the promised land of Canaan(modern Israel). Its importance is History as well as the giving of the laws(ten Commandments).

Israel received the Torah, His Divine Teaching at Mt. Sinai, to teach the ways of God to all nations. In the very First of the Ten Commandments, God introduces Himself by saying, "I am the Lord your God Who has taken you from the Land of Egypt, the House of Bondage" (Exodus 20:2).

They didnt, it was a sabotage effort made to draw attention away from the TRUTH contained in the ancient Hebrew Manuscript of the Original Dead sea Scrolls. Truth to be supported in this is that you say given. And I say by who ?
And the Jews say yeah we dont know who ?
Because it is not known who wrote it, They dont know the author of the TORAH.
