Ok so here's the story. Things didn't really end well between us an I was never involed with him. I wanted to get over him because I thought that there was no point in loving someone who I can't have at that time due to our 5 year age difference. He's 21 and I'm 17 now. Today, I don't believe what I stated above is true. Ok this is going to sound so retarted but loving him makes me happy. So I got him this gift that I was suppose to give him for his 20th birthday and never did. Hence, I'm going to give to to him tomorrow for Valentine's day. He has a girlfriend now and has moved on. I obviously haven't. The reason why I want to give him the gift is it's a way I'm telling him that I'm going to let him go once and for all. The lyrics that I want to copy out are only ones that apply to him from the song the Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani. Now that I think about, I don't think I should do this and just leave the gift as it is. What do you think?

i think u need to see a psychologist. j/k If u give him lyrics to a song he will know that u still have feelings for him. The best thing to give him is to leave him alone and find another b/f. By doing that u will give him the gift of missing u.

First of all, why are you giving him a Valentine's Day gift? No matter what reason you "claim" to be doing it, Valentine's Day is for people with romantic relationships and it will come across as a desperate and pathetic attempt to hold on.

If he told you he has a girlfriend you should take that at face value. Have you heard the phrase "he's just not that into you". If a guy is interested in you (even just a little bit) he will not create stories to keep you away. If he did make it up, do you really want to trail after a liar?

The lyrics to "Sweet Escape" are about reuniting with a loved one after a temporary hiatus. There is absolutely no way that it is telling him that you are "going to let him go once and for all". The best thing to do is let him go and stop bothering him and giving him gifts. There are a lot of guys around. Don't pine over this one. Good luck!

He could take the song in the wrong way, as if you were hoping to get back together. Why don't you just give him the gift with a note in your own words explaining that it's your way of saying goodbye without any hard feelings, and you hope he's happy- something like that.

are you sure you're doing it to say you're letting go. i would advise you not to do it. it'll make his g/f jealous and he wont be happy if she's jealous. nah, just let them be.

let it go.
if he's moved on, has a new girlfriend, and you think you are over him, just let him live his life.
