Everyone is in control of their own lives, whether they know it or not. Some are better than others.

Even when you Give GOD Control of your Life, HE won't Take it. HE gave us FreeWill, GOD will not go Against What HE gave you.
Giving GOD Control of your Life means that Your Asking GOD to Help you make Daily Decisions, so that the Reaping of what you have Sown that Day will Bless You and Everybody Else you Effected that Day.
Hard to do, in this World, to Follow the Leadership of the Holy Spirit in All Things (Thoughts, Words and Actions) Hard to Do, but Worth the Trying.
You'll get alot of those Things Right alot of the Time if you Conciously try to Follow HIS Leadership.
p.s. The devil will try to "Make you do what he wants you to"---not GOD.
Free-Will.
We Still have it when the devil does his thing.
We can say "No".

From a Buddhist perspective being in control of your life is being in control of your mind. When you've trained your mind correctly you're less likely to be tossed about by the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" and less clingy and attached to the things we incorrectly believe will bring us pure pleasure or happiness.

My life is controlled by the Holy Spirit. My life without the Holy Spirit was chaos and I didn't fully realize the understanding in that until I gained the understanding of the Holy Spirit.

I tried to be in Control of my Life, and made a Mess of it. Today I Surrender my Life, and all Control to my LORD, and Savior, Jesus Christ !

I don't want to be in control of my life in the sense that I want God to direct my steps so that I can follow His perfect will for my life....sometimes that includes trials that make my faith stronger...I would rather trust a perfect, holy God not bound by time or space, that knows my heart because He created me to direct me instead of me being in charge.

The best way to have a control in your life is to leave it all to God. He knows what we need. He is capable of taking care of us. He is bigger than any of our problems. Pray for guidance. : )
