Iwhy do people think mormons are stupid, it's kind of like what I thought, I thought Jumba juice looked sick, so I didn't try it, but when I eventually did, I loved it, so then I thought, I don't know other lots of other christian religions, so I cannot jugde them, besides that they believe in the bible, and they believe it to be the word of God, as do Mormons, so why judge a religion you don't even know? a lot of people think that Mormons, have all thier "Commandments" in the Book of Mormon, but look at the whole title (below) my great grandfather, also thaught mormons were false, and he was a very intelligent man, his brother, the BOM and said "whoa, bro this is true" and then he's like "WHAT? the BOM? who are you kidding?" he then read it and said whoa this is real... and so are the 0 com's

BOM: ANOTHER TESTIMENT OF JESUS CHRIST
why are christians better than Mrms? all men are equal right?
tithes go to our buildings (repairs temples, resources ect.)

A lot of people think that the name of our church is "Mormon". They don't look at the name of our church, which clearly states we are the "Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". It says right in the title what we believe, at least to some extent. It is said that is something is true, there will always be people who fight the truth.

Most other Christian sects say we aren't christian because we don't believe in the trinity. I have tried to explain this to some people on here, but they call it blaspheme and tell me I'm going to hell for believing that. Most other Christian sects won't take the time to read the BOM, or even to do research on their own to find out if there may be even a little truth in what we believe.

I know that everyone believes that their religion is the right one, and it more then likely is the right one for them, but maybe it isn't right for me. I think most people just aren't willing to admit that there could be something outside of what they think that could be right to someone else. There has been a lot of things written and produced in the past that sheds a bad light on the Church. And most people will believe that, even if they haven't looked into it themselves.

I just try to tell those people that they can believe what they want, it isn't up to me to judge them for their beliefs, and I would appreciate the same courtesy.

just sit back, and google the Mormons, research how they came about, how they had 2 false predictions of the end of time, research the fruit cake that started it all as well.

its not a real religion but nothing more than a man who took the bible, chopped it up, took out what he didn't like, add in stuff he wanted and then said, THIS IS THE NEW BOOK!

those that are not wise or are not educated are the ones that fall for the Mormons. as anyone who has knowledge of them and their history, stays as far away from them as possible.

let alone the Bible even speaks of them in ways....it mentions many false prophets. meaning there will be many that will try to lead you astray from the bible, the word of god. that is exactly what the book of Mormons is doing.....taking you away from the word of god.

1. Women have their place and it isn't in the work force. They should be at home taking care of the family and house.

2. They pressure their members to cut (or at least lessen) all ties with anyone that isn't mormon.

3. Very fast marriages (I've seen many many mormons that have gotten married after three months of dating).

4. They peddle their religion like door to door salesman.

How do I know all this? Because my former roommate was a Mormon and I got told some nasty things by that sucker who actually pointed out places in the bible to try to justify his actions toward me ("Why are you in here playing games with the guys when you should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen making dinner for us") that little jerk.

And then there's the old friend who is now Mormon that cut his ties with everyone he knew previously because they weren't Mormon (though that was the most extreme he went after 2 years of being deeply involved in the religion).

I know more about that religion than I ever wanted to know and I barely covered what I have a problem with in that religion. But those are the main things that really bug me.

You asked, I answered. And there was no politer way I could think of it put it.

I think that each person puts their own spin on the faith they follow. I have seen incredibly inspired Latter-Day Saint and Non-Denominational Christians alike be humble and seriously strive to live in peace, and find the courage to let others know that their faith is what facilitates that peace. I have also seen both examples use their religious vocabulary to loop-hole their way through life, going through the motions of christianity, but in reality, having no grace or charity in their hearts. I guess my point is, do not insult God by thinking that you can hide the nature of your soul from him or her. In that case, who cares what doctrine you believe if you have a genuine desire to be a good human being? If you chose this question as an opportunity to throw your hatred on a another person or persons, you've missed the point of Christianity anyway. The LDS doctrine, whether true or not, is a beautiful thing with beautiful promises, and living their principles sincerely can lead a person to be a beautiful human being. ThAT is what matters.
Take care.

Do not try to sell me on the book of mormon. This has been hashed, and re-hashed here on R&S. LDS spread false doctrine, period. I do not feel like typing all the facts, but here is an apologetics website - www.carm.org. Click on the 'search CARM' box, type in mormons, and read the truth, dude! Any religion that tells you that you cannot enter heaven unless you believe that a certain person (in this case, Joseph Smith) is a prophet of God is FALSE!!! Their teachings are NOT Biblical! The book of mormon is false doctrine. Period.

MOST of the people are not bad people as an individual. But when you have that many people willing to blindly believe whatever there told (that goes for all religions in IMO but mormon especially) thats dangerous. Also when a good percentage of young (teen age) mormons are denouncing their faith it kinda tells you that the religion is bogus

All faiths have extremists or radicals.
There are mormons that believe in more than one wife and then there are the ones who believe in only one wife.
The Book of Mormon is considered an addition to the Bible, so yes they believe in the Bible. I don't believe in the Book of Mormon but I have respect for it. I have a copy in my closet that a couple of guys gave me that I can't find anyone who wants it.
Yes we are all equal in God's eyes. I don't believe in the Mormon faith, but others can.

Only thing I have a problem with your religion is the fact that you follow a religion that was made up by a confirmed Liar , Forger , thief , Con artist and murder ,, And their is no historical physical Evidence to back up Joesph Smiths Historical Claims ,,Even the golden Plates those who said they saw them even had doubts about their authenticity and at a later time retracted their sworn statement ,,,,Something the your Book fails to mention ,,,and your book also fails to mention that ,,Those who signed this document were bribed to At lest with Muslims , Judaism , Christianity ,,,Their is some physical Evidence that their is some truth to what they say occurred ........Though Facts were manipulated ,,,..... And their is even more rely able Evidence proving that paganism is based on fact ,,,even science has proven some beliefs Paganism to be true not only that but Our beliefs back Scientific truths But like your sister said ,,," if you wanna live your life believing lies and waste it on trying to please a god that makes your life miserable ,,then go ahead its your life to waste " FYI ,,Unless your eating only meat ,,,with no spices added to it ,,,your Violating your beliefs ,,,as All spices fruits and veg tables have an ingredient that dose the same things as Caffeine ,,,,

I totally agree with you, there is no reason why we should think they are bad, from personal experience, I think they are the nicest person; you just need to get to know them. One of my friend's is a Mormon and most of my family didn't like him because of that, but once they got to know him, they realized he was a very nice guy. I guess we just need time to realize that people different from us can be good too.

I've only known a couple of Mormons and they were beautiful people. I don't know too much about the religion though.
